tonight @concertgebouw

Sitting in a chair now, of the Concertgebouw, Kleine Zaal (small hall). Waiting for the interview with David Byrne (Talking Heads) to start. How Music Works, is the title of David Byrne’s book. I am wondering who all these people are, in the audience. People of all ages between 25 and 60 I guess. I see some music collegues, but not too many. The John Adams Institute is hosting the interview. Just a small comment today on what I witnessed:

Allthough one could be dissapointed about the rather narrow subject of music distribution (in light of the writers carreer and the titel of the book) and the seeming lack of up-to-date knowledge of the interviewee on that topic, it still leaves us thinking and talking about the present-day status of music and how we get our art out there. I am grateful for that.
