Ed Spanjaard & Nieuw Ensemble

So today, I started the day preparing Giel Vleggaar’s Appalachia for the concert of December 4th at the Muziekgebouw aan t IJ in Amsterdam. The Nieuw Ensemble is a fantastic group of musicians with one of the best conductors I know: Ed Spanjaard. The way that he gets the meaning of music accross is amazing. A thrill to work with! And that is important for the result as well: the process…I am becoming more and more interested in the process behind the music making. Of course, the result is important, but I think the result benefits from not being too goal oriented during the process…more later!
