Frank Tinkelenberg

Is a computer programmer/mathematician who has found a magic square, that excited many of his collegues AND composer Tom Johnson. Here you find more about the wonderful square http://www.geomagicsquares.com/gallery.php?page=55. Tom Johnson wrote a compostion called Tinkelenberg Rhythms. It is for guitar solo. A very direct sonification of the rhythms, deducted from the geomagic Tinkelenberg square. It is a lot of fun working on this brand new work, which was written just this last July. It will be premiered at the Orgelpark, in Amsterdam. Sunday November 2nd in the afternoon. After some experimentation, I have decided to play the piece on a steelstring acoustic guitar. Powerful, but beautifully sounding instrument (Larrivee).
